Dr. Smith grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts and graduated from Assumption College before earning her doctorate at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She opened the Animal Hospital of Putnam in 1990.

Dr. Smith has specific interests in dermatology, orthopedics, and surgery. She enjoys spending time with her rambunctious black lab, Bug, who accompanies her to work every day, and her four nephews.
Dr. Anna Durgin
Dr. Anna Durgin is originally from Central, MA. After high school she attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she earned a B.A. in animal science. She then earned her DVM from Ross University and did her clinical year at the University of Missouri. She returned home after practicing small animal medicine and some large animal medicine on the south shore for 8 1/2 years. Her veterinary interests include small animal wellness and soft tissues surgery. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family her daughter Olivia, and sons Benny and Charlie. She also shares her home with her 3 cats Snickers, Kit Kat, and George. and her 3 dogs Molly, Ducky and Rusty.
