Vaccinations

Our vaccine recommendations will be tailored to your pet’s individual needs.

Dog Vaccination at Vet in Leesport

Dogs

6-8 weeks (1st exam)

  • first DA2PP vaccine (Distemper, Adenovirus2, Parainfluenza and Parvo Virus)
  • Bring a fresh stool sample so we can check for internal parasites

9-12 weeks (2nd examination)

  • 2nd DA2PP vaccination (done 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccine)
  • 1st Leptospirosis vaccine
  • 1st Lyme vaccine (if doctor approves)

12 weeks or older

  • Rabies vaccination and examination. The first rabies vaccine is good for one year, subsequent vaccinations last for 3 years. Bring a fresh stool sample so we may check for intestinal parasites.

13-16 weeks (3rd examination)

  • 3rd DA2pp and 2nd Leptospirosis vaccine which will finish the series and be good for one year if given when the puppy is 16 weeks old or more. (must be 2 to 4 weeks after the previous vaccine)
  • 2nd Lyme (2 to 4 weeks after the initial vaccine)
  • Leave in the part about the importance of the exam

Felines

6-8 weeks (1st exam)

  • 1st FVRCP vaccination (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia)
  • Bring a stool sample so we can check for internal parasites

9-12 weeks (2nd examination)

  • 2nd FVRCP ( 3 to 4 weeks after initial vaccine)
  • 1st Leukemia vaccine (if doctor advises)

12 weeks or older

  • Rabies vaccination and exam
  • 1st vaccine is good for one year, subsequently good for 3 years.
  • Bring a stool sample in to check for parasites

13-16 weeks (3rd examination)

  • 3rd FVRCP (done 3 to 4 weeks from previous one)
  • If the kitten is 16 weeks old this concludes the series and is good for one year.
  • 2nd Leukemia (if doctor advises 3-4 weeks after initial vaccine)
