Radiology for Pets in Putnam, CT
Diagnostic X-Ray Services
Our radiology department at Animal Hospital of Putnam has an in-house x-ray machine which allows us to quickly diagnose problems not found by physical examination or blood testing.
With an x-ray, we can diagnose conditions such as:
- Intestinal issues
- Heart defects
We can take radiographs of the skeletal system, spine, heart and lungs, abdomen and skull. Our veterinarians are thorough and careful to ensure that your pet’s x-ray is accurate. You can rest assured that we will communicate the results to you and explain what next steps you should take.
How It Works
If you’re nervous about your pet getting an x-ray, don’t be! X-rays are non-invasive and completely painless for your pet.
In some cases, we’ll use sedation or anesthesia to make sure we get the best and most clear view of the problem area.
Once testing is complete, our veterinary team will review the results and make recommendations for treatment or further diagnostics. We’ll present our findings to you and explain what it means for your pet.
Should you have any concerns or questions about the procedure before your pet undergoes an x-ray, do not hesitate to communicate them with us. We are happy to explain our procedures and make sure you feel comfortable and confident before getting started.
